The federal Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA) is investing over $451M in broadband buildouts in Kansas over the next 5 years. This investment creates a need for a dedicated and skilled broadband workforce to complete this work. The jobs are a mix of broadband related technical skills, and general construction skillsets. A partnership has been formed between KBOR, KSDE, and the KS Department of Commerce to address these needs statewide. We'll discuss the new opportunities and efforts targeted at this workforce segment.
